Public meeting – Ballyshannon

A public meeting will be held on Monday 17th October at 8pm at the Abbey Centre in Ballyshannon.  The main speaker at the meeting will be Dr. Aedin McLoughlin who will give a presentation about hydraulic fracturing and its implications for health, agriculture, tourism, water & air quality, jobs etc.  Other speakers will also give their perspectives followed by a question and answer session.  All are very welcome, “especially from Fermanagh”.

Well over 100 people braved the freezing wind and rain last night to attend the public presentation meeting on Shale Gas Drilling, (Fracking) by Dr. Aedin McLoughlin, Brigit and Ron Beemster, and Sonia Oldham, (who presented on a Fermanagh perspective, showing the conservation areas, the flora and fauna of the area of proposed drilling in Fermanagh, and the Geo parks, SACS areas, and lakeland. The next presentation is in The Wharf, Bundoran, on 25th October at 8pm sharp. We have to thank the management and staff of the Abbey Centre for their gift of the theatre, and their time and energy given.
